The team met at 8 o' clock for a team dinner in the locker room. Courtney Nestor picked up the Fazoli's and brought it to the locker room for everybody. The pasta and breadsticks made for a great pregame meal.
Friday morning we had practice to prepare us for the game. We played World Cup and practiced set pieces and corners. That night, we played at home against Wright State. The hard work we had put in at practice all week didn't shine through in the game, and we didn't have the success we had all hoped for.
Saturday morning's practice was run mostly by the captains and then corners and fitness was run by Brenton. The captains chose Juggle Squares and World Cup. After practice we got on the bus to go to Reed's. We had a very nice dinner followed by some fun. A huge group of us played Quelf. Even Ricker and Lindsay joined in. We checked into the hotel and had a brief meeting. With Dairy Queen right by the hotel, many of us treated ourselves to some ice cream.
Sunday morning we ate breakfast at the hotel before our light jog and stretch. We rode over to the game against Valparaiso University. The game plan going in was DDI (Discipline, Details, and Ice cream). Lindsay promised ice cream if we allowed no goals off corners. Our defense was very organized, stayed disciplined, and therefore played a great game. We battled the entire 90 minutes plus 2- 10 minute overtimes for a tie. After the game we ate at Uptown Cafe and got the ice cream Lindsay promised. The ride home didn't seem as long as it could have been after a great result. We ended up getting home at 12:45.
