This weekend overall was extremely successful for the Colonel Soccer team. We started it all off with a team dinner of Fazolis in the locker room on Thursday night. Friday morning we woke up early and had a light jog and stretch with a fun game of World Cup to get us up and moving and warm for the game at 5:00. We then headed to our classes until it was time to be back at 3:30. When 3:30 came around, we all headed to the locker room in our polos and khaki shorts, ready to jam to pump-up music to get us all ready for the game. Lindsay arrived and showed us clips of things we needed to work on for the game, and then it was time to get our minds right and ready to play. We came out quick against Presbyterian, scoring in the first 6 minutes of the game. We possessed very well and did a lot of good things that we needed to work on. With a dangerous halftime lead of 2-0, we came out in the second half and scored two more, ending 4-0. After a short celebration, we had practice Saturday morning and then got on the bus to head to Detroit. When we got to Detroit we went out to dinner and then ate amazing dessert at Fant’s house before getting to the hotel. Sunday morning we woke up and did another light jog and stretch with the stretch bands and rollers. We watched a little more film and then headed to the game determined to get a result. We ended up battling the game out hard, scoring in the first minute and leaving with a 2-1 victory. The bus ride home was a happy one, and we even got to stop at Graeter’s for ice cream in Springboro, Ohio. We wanted to get results in both games this weekend and that’s exactly what we did. We’re very excited about getting better every day and ready for conference play to start this weekend!
