I will edit Britt's email into a post today...

So today was their first game, albeit an Exhibition, against Indiana Purdue. Britt started!! It looks like she was the only freshman. Britt said it felt kinda crazy, but the coach pulled 10 girls aside and told them how they were the ones who have stood out the most and had been working the hardest and so they were getting rewarded for it. According to the stat log, she played 33 minutes the first half and then subbed out. She played the first 20 minutes of the second half, subbed out for 10 minutes, then finished the second half. EKU scored in the first half on an assist from Britt, and Purdue scored the second half, so the game ended 1-1.

Britt said the camping trip was really fun, they had three cabins out in the middle of nowhere. They weren't allowed to watch TV, so they had to find ways to entertain each other. They started off with a night hike the first day, which Britt said was pretty with the sunset. The coach took some good pictures, except Britt wasn't sure if she still had them... The following morning when they woke up to go canoeing, "which mind you the mans teeth kept sliding down and he would use his tongue to push them up everytime, we didn't sign any waivers and they sorta just said here's the canoes knock urself out then reminded us not to have our rope in the water cause the water snakes would crawl up it..no big deal." While they all attempted to get out of the canoes, some of the girls made it and then they thought they should let the coaches go so they could help the others ... which ended up with them flipping their canoe over. Brenton (the Assistant Coach) couldn't move for a solid 5 mins because he kept sinking in the mud. Lindsay's camera was ruined and those three were all drenched (the third person was their trainer, Ricker). "Also the water wasn't too far from sewage water it was nasty. Then we cooked our delicious mexican fiesta which turned out really good surprisingly. The game was kinda slow for awhile cause the grass was very long, but not to brag I got the assist... I got the ball turned and laid it off too Carly who took the shot and scored."

I think we got the email from Britt around 11p our time, so they must have driven straight back after the game. I'm sure Britt was relieved that she not only played, she got to start. I was.
